Sports Medicine Experience
Brian has been involved in orthopedics and sports medicine for the past 27 years. He has had experience with professional athletes including the New York Jets and New York Rangers. He has extensive experience working with althetes of all ages and sports. He has had the opportunity to help modify post-op protocols and is currently involved with teaching in the physician fellowship program in sports medicine through USF. He has been involved with teaching for years and has given seminars on the following topics: Current Concepts in Pain Management, Medical Approach to Therapeutic Exercises, and Orthopedic Rehab for Post-Surgical New Technologies. He has made instructional videos for exercises and patient education and is currently a USF Health Clinical Instructor. He has been involved with the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences at USF, from 2006 to present.
His local work experience has included Morton Plant Orthopedic Center, SpineCenter of West Pasco, an affiliate of HCA Hospital, New Port Richey, Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs, Bayfront Medical Center of St Petersburg, and Advance Rehab Systems Inc. in Clearwater. He has also been a Private Practice Consultant in Palm Harbor.
He has several publications including the following: Energy Consumption during level ground
and treadmill walking in post surgical pediatric bone cancer patients, published in the Abstact Journal of Applied Physiology in July 1989. He was a Contributing Consultant for a Money Magazine Article for What Home exercise Videos are safe and Effective, which was published in September of 1989.
His personal interests include jazz, exercise, and fitness as well as martial arts.
