Debra Dent graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma of Physiotherapy in 1977 and Bachelor of Physical Therapy in 1979. She received her Part A certification in manual therapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in 1989 and her Part B Manipulative certification (Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy) in 1994. She received her Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) in the United States in 1996. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual Therapists (FCAMT) since 1994.

She has been an instructor for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association since 1989 and is an instructor for Northeast Seminars. She has published the “Segmental Stabilization of the Lumbar spine” with Northeast Seminars on the internet. She has instructed the Spinal Manual Therapy Program for the Msc PT undergraduate class at the University of South Florida since 2003. She has taught a large number of courses in the USA and Canada and is the author of numerous course manuals.
She is presently presenting another course for Cross Border Seminars on October 10th and 11th in Clearwater and on November 14th/ 15th in Fort Lauderdale.
Cross Border Seminars promotes postgraduate education for Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants and the courses taught are tailor made for the student's needs. Debra utilizes her Canadian Physiotherapy background to offer thorough assessment and treatment training for PT's and PTA's.
Cross Border Seminars operates out of C.H.O.O.S.E. Physical Therapy's Clinic. The classes are small and personal with a large percentage of the seminar following a lab format with a low teacher to student ratio.
